O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Party, O Christmas with lots of snow

In the last two weeks we got our Christmas tree, we went to the Lewey's for our Christmas party, and we had our first big snowfall (a whole six inches). Here are some pics:

Getting the Christmas tree has become an annual family tradition, excluding last year when we got our tree from the hardware store because Jaimelee was too excited and couldn't wait another second. Here's half the crew, eagerly awaiting the tree hunting.

She's psyched to be in 10 degree weather, without snow on the ground, looking for a tree in the woods. I'm not pictured, but I have the same look on my face, too.

This knee surgery has been awesome. Anytime I don't want to do anything, I just grimace and JL takes over. Here I got her to cut down the tree. When we left, she only thought she was going to be repairing toilets... she didn't know that she'd need the proper tree-cutting-down pants.

Mr Jack and Grammy.

Doesn't look right without the snow, does it?

When do people learn to close their eyes when they kiss. Why is it instinctual? Did we constantly get our eyes poked out when people first began to kiss thousands of years ago? Ok, random thoughts are done.

The masterpiece. It actually looks better at night with the lights on.

Random gem... future boyfriend and girlfriend? I think not.

Off to the Christmas party...
Martine partying it up with Lex.

This is the only picture I had of Kyle. Here Ally is always worried about me partying too hard. Geez... if Kyle ever gets arrested, tell the police that they don't need to bother with a mug shot.

Miss Olivia having a great time with the big guy.

Nick looks like he should be in high school in this picture. Is he trying to look young to win over Alexis' heart?

Greg is the tickle king. He always knows just where to tickle these girls to get them to laugh.

Eva and Sage kind of spent the night at our house the night before this picture was taken. I think Eva is thanking Sage for coming with her to that creepy house in the woods.

Ben was having a staring contest with Lexi. As you can see, Ben wins!

This is the Playstation chair. She loves it! I guess we better get a PS3.

She was tired after a hard night of partying. What better place to take a snooze other than Daddy's hamper?

On Friday while the Southern portion of Vermont was getting blanketed with ice, we got about five or six inches of snow... or in better terms, just enough for school to be cancelled.
Mommy and Lexi playing in the snow.

Alexis worried that her legs are gone forever.

Besides my funny winter hat, check out the very good looking doggy next to us. She had just gotten back from the groomer for the first time in her life. She looks very pretty now.

One of my favorite pictures of Lexi, followed by...

Is this the same kid???
ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAYS!

Our Visit Home- Part Two

I never remembered to put the photos of our the second half of our trip home. Below you will find pictures of the house that Nanna built, the sherpa known as Jaimelee, Alexis' first sledding experience, and way too many princesses for anyone's liking.

Alexis was a little afraid of Nanna's house at first, so Grampon showed her that it wasn't scary at all... his face on the other hand looking through this window...

Do you think she knows how cute she is?

Like her Mommy, she's always liked decorating for reasons her Daddy will never be able to understand.

Yea, she's not scared anymore... but again, the rocker hairdo makes it a little hard to see that she's happy in her house.

Doesn't this picture look like something you'd find in a catalog. Not sure which catalog, but maybe the new store, Baby Plus?

Whoa, Nanna shredding the gnar with the little one. I don't know what I'm saying, but I've heard snowboarders say that and it seems appropriate for Nanna and Lexi.

Ready or not, here we come Everest.

Hey look, I married a princess.

Hey look, my future step/half/sort of/kind of brother-in-law is a princess too!

... and here Lexi thought she was the only princess at the party. She just found out the news and isn't at all happy.

Nanna and Alexis sharing a laugh.

Mommy dearest.

Our Visit Home- Part One

We had a chance to get back to Auburn to see Macette, Papa, and Uncle Bill. Despite our little girl missing her afternoon nap, she persevered and had a good time at the grand'rent's place.

Alexis with Uncle Bill... what a natural!

It took some convincing, but once I told Bill she'd be ok, it was funny to see him let go. It was as if he was letting his own go for the first time. I think he was a little nervous.

Alexis trying to share her sweet potato puff with great grandpa, Papa. For some reason, Papa wasn't accepting this nice gesture.

Macette and Alexis spent much of the day cuddling. I was convinced she was going to fall asleep while Macette was holding her.

This was back at Mom's house. I thought it would be funny to stick her in a wagon in which she's obviously much too big for. I wasn't disappointed.

She's way too cute- Riding Steph's original horsey for the first time.

Here are a couple of videos to entertain you:

Birthday, Birthday, Birthday, Cabinets

It's Thursday, November 6th and Alexis has this strange look on her face. She must've been thinking, "I think I was born a year ago today, but where's my big party that Mommy has been telling everyone about? The only people here are Grammie and Papa and they only have one present with them. This is a major bummer for me as I thought these birthday things were actually supposed to be fun. Oh yeah, Mom has wrapped up a few presents I've already seen wanting to try to make this day a little more special for me. Good one, Mommy. Why don't you go and pull something out of the trash and wrap it up for me. It'll be just as special to me. If I had to grade my parents efforts for this party, it would be an F-. Is there such a thing as an F-? Who cares. I'm not happy and I'm going to let everyone know it. Me, spoiled? Yeah right."

Here's the infamous party Alexis was just thinking about. Looks fun, doesn't it?

Have you ever seen a more disappointed kid in your life? What could she have been thinking here? I won't get into that again, but it would probably be something like, "They can't even bake me a friggin cake on my birthday? And nothing says love more than one candle in the middle of some overcooked brownies. F- again on the cake substitute."

This is beginning to look a little more festive...

Papa Eldred didn't disappoint constructing the perfect little fairy or tinkerbell or princess (whatever the theme of this party was) cake.

Now we're talking! I bet we're getting in our child's good graces again after presenting her with this cake.

Some of my favorite pictures to follow. I guess the fork was optional...

After cake, it was time for some presents. Mommy didn't even have to wrap up old stuff as there were way too many presents.

Uncle Nick and Aunt Marty pretending to be parents.

Uncle Nick could be one of Alexis' all time favorite people.
Good thing Wyatt was around to help with the chores after the big party.
Why are fake babies always so popular? Look at the size of the head. Thing is enormous.

There wasn't much time to recover as Addy's birthday was the following weekend. We did somehow fit in one more birthday celebration at the great-grandparents house (not sure where those pictures are) a week after her original party.
Papa Eldred worked his cake magic again for Addy's cake.

Alexis was confused as to whose party it was. She was so used to opening presents, it became instinctive.

She was also so used to having something fun and exciting to do every weekend that when we finally got a weekend to ourselves, she had to find new ways to entertain herself.

She may have gotten into the flour. Keep the fat girl and flour jokes to yourself, Ronald.
