Last Three Weeks

Wow, I can't believe how much can really be done in three weeks. Christmas, a trip to every Eldred house in a 30 mile radius, a trip home to the 'Burn, a soccer reunion, a 'Cuse game, cooking galore, and finally a trip to the Holmes' home in the woods all happened since Christmas Eve. Our little girl has also been growing up so much in the last three weeks. Words and animal sounds are getting a little more clear as well as the moment we've all been waiting for, her first steps. She began to take a couple of steps right before Christmas and is now a full-fledged walker. The video I've attached is from a week ago. She's now able to walk across the entire length of a room. From what others have told me, I'm going to be wishing for the days when she wasn't so mobile very shortly.

Everyone should be used to my blogs at this point, a lot of pictures with brief narrations. Here we go:

So, I was in the kitchen the other day and I hadn't heard or seen Alexis for a few seconds so I went to investigate. I began to panick until I saw the Christmas tree moving a little. Here's sasquatch caught in the act of hiding on Dadda.

Nick and Marty got the ridiculous act of gift-giving going by coming over a few days before Christmas. The funny thing about this picture is that she has already broken the Doodle Pro. She sat on it and now it doesn't erase fully. Insert your own joke here.

I always heard how spoiled kids are at Christmas, but I never imagined how bad it really would be. Here she's psyched to get her first candy, Raisenettes. Needless to say, she gave one a try.

Why is she so happy? Oh yeah, because she just opened about 20 million toys.

The big hit this year was cell phones. Addy and Alexis think they're the coolest thing in the world. Here Addy is modeling the correct way to hold the phone. Alexis still thinks her ears are somewhere on her upper back.
Jack just chillin, being his happy old self.

Addy is ready to hit the slopes, but something is missing. What could it be?

Sweet. We found a hat and vest for her, but something is still missing.

Forget skiing, now we're ready to for a barnyard dance.

After all of the festivities in Vermont, we made it back to Tully for some more presents. Steph and David are laughing as they know how much we love books that make noise.

Gary and Claire were in Auburn and made a special trip up to see Miss Alexis. It was good to reconnect and catch up on family news.

Mesmerized by the cell.

Ok, so this isn't a good look for her, but it's become common. Anytime you tell her "No" or anytime she can't quite figure something out, she'll look up and give you this look. We just laugh.

Hanging out with one of her three great-grandpas. She doesn't know how lucky she is.

Macette likes everyone to have socks or slippers on their feet when visiting her house. Alexis on the other hand likes to have bare feet. Here's Alexis letting Macette know how she feels about socks.
While home, Gun gathered a bunch of Auburn soccer alum together for a celebration of Coach's years of service to Auburn soccer. It was a great evening and awesome to see the guys.

The next night I got a chance to see SU put a beating on Seton Hall with Dad, Dusty, and Kelly. Great, great time. I wish I lived closer as I would definitely go to every game.

Jaimelee and I were both so exhausted from the week, we let the little one drive home. It was sketchy at times, but we both fell asleep and somehow we ended up at home. As you can see, she took this task very seriously.

This past weekend, Drew and Maren invited us to their cabin in New Hampshire. I guess we were the fourth couple to get invited. Even though we weren't first on their list, we were the first to accept their invitation. Regardless of the circumstance, we had a great time hanging out.

I'm such a ladies man.

I'm so glad I took this picture. As soon as I took it, I looked at it and realized I had a two on my forehead. I'm not even sure what game we were playing, but I can only assume a two wasn't good.

The party in the tub was a big hit.

Besides the fact that he's with his sister, do you think Will knows how lucky he is right now?

There's my girl. Penny and I were tight by the time I left. She thinks I'm pretty funny.

First stages of walking. When do they stop laughing everytime they take a step?
